School Earns Recognition Program Money

The Booneville School District has received $24,600 through the Arkansas School Recognition Program due to being in the top five percent of growth in terms of academic growth and graduation rate.

Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. ยง6-15-2107, the Arkansas School Recognition Program was created to provide financial awards to public schools that experience high student performance, student academic growth, and for secondary schools, high graduation rate.

The program authorizes rewards in an amount up to $100 per student who attends a public school or public charter school in the top 5 percent of all Arkansas public schools in student performance or student academic growth, which includes high school graduation rates for secondary schools under criteria set forth by rule of the State Board of Education.

Up to $50 per student enrolled is awarded to public schools or public charter schools between the top 5% and the next 5% (schools in the top 6-10 percent) of all public schools in Arkansas in student performance or student academic growth, which includes high school graduation rates for secondary schools under criteria set forth by rule of the State Board of Education.

The total performance and growth amount awarded statewide was $6,877,600.
