Halloween Safety Tips for Trick-or-Treaters!

Stay Safe • Have Fun • Make Sweet Memories!

🎃 1. Always Have an Adult With You

Young children should always trick-or-treat with a parent or trusted adult.

👻 2. Stay With Your Group

Never wander off alone. Use the buddy system and stay together.

🚦 3. Look Both Ways Before Crossing

Use sidewalks and crosswalks. Always look left, right, and left again before crossing the street.

🔦 4. Be Seen in the Dark

Carry flashlights, glow sticks, or wear reflective tape so drivers can see you.

🍬 5. Check Your Candy

Have an adult inspect all candy before eating it. Avoid unwrapped or suspicious treats and check for food allergies.

🏠 6. Visit Safe, Well-Lit Areas

Only approach homes or designated trick-or-treat stations that are welcoming visitors. Never enter a stranger's home or vehicle.

🚗 7. Watch Out for Cars

Never run between parked cars. Walk carefully through parking lots and driveways.

🦸 8. Choose Safe Costumes

Wear costumes that fit properly, avoid tripping hazards, and make sure masks do not block your vision.

🚫 9. Never Accept Rides From Strangers

Stay with your trusted adult and never leave with someone you do not know.

📱 10. Know What to Do if You Get Separated

Have a meeting spot planned and know how to contact your parent or guardian.

🍭 11. Walk, Don't Run

Take your time moving between houses or trunks. Watch for cords, decorations, and uneven pavement.

❤️ 12. Be Kind and Respectful

Say "please" and "thank you," take only your share of candy, and respect others.
